If you take the literal meaning of the word omnipotent, then logically, the answer has to be yes. However, whether such an entity exists is an entirely different matter.

A tricky question that requires some thought. If a god is as powerful as that, then he will be fully aware of the consequences of creating an equally powerful or more powerful entity. So that would stop that project even if it was possible.

If one is omnipotent how can he bring into existance an omni-omnipotent being. The definition of omnipotent precludes your question. And no God can not make a square circle, or a rock so big He can not pick it up. These are really senseless notions.

Your answert may lie in looking at man....God made man in his own image...can man therefore make a being/thing/whatever more powerful than himself...and the answer simply is no! Computers are perhaps the most powerful and many times more powerful than man..potentially but all a man has to do is flick a switch and ...............power gone.
Best wishes, Mike.

I totally agree with K Marx, if God is all powerful he would have more sense than to make someone more powerful than he is, but that does not mean he couldn't, he just knows it would be a pointless mission. That would amount to foolishness, and I doubt that god is a fool.

lol i think a better one is 'if god is omnipotent, can he create a rock heavier than he can lift?'
i asked a religious guy that once. he said 'why would he want to?' i pointed out that this was a) rude, because you shouldn't answer a question with a question, and b) evading the question completely. lol it was funny watching him squirm. what an idiot.

This is semantic silliness. You are attemting to define the undefinable. It is more a demonstration of the limitations of our language than anything else.
