Its funny you say dogs are stupid... but how many different species of animal can you learn to understand the language of? When is the last time you learned what a crow was talking about? When did you learn to sniff out cancer, detect seizures, alert people to low blood sugar, sniff out drugs, rescue people without any training at all, act as eyes for the blind, ears for the deaf and bring joy to dying children and elderly people? Do you know how to understand dog body language? because dogs can understand our ody language, and they can learn the meaning of words. How many dog sounds do you understand the meaning of? If a dog asked you to let them out would you understand? No no its not dogs who are stupid its people.. dogs are extremely intelligent and have learned fatr more about us than we have about them.. You would think after 15,000 year of us humans being around dogs we would at least be able to understand them by now, but we dont, they understand us perfectly however. By the by cats are smart too... my cats can open drawers, doors, cupboards, boxes and anything else, they can also remember where I have put things and find them. Not to mention all the cats who can turn on water faucets, flush and use toilets, and myriad other things.

And if you think dogs are stupid, you only have to browse through Yahoo answers for a few minutes to see who the stupid species is...

No all dogs are stupid. Dogs have personality types from independent to dependent. Dependent dogs are generally seen as stupid, as they need constant attention, and direction, whereas independent dogs ike to do their own thing. My dog has a litter tray (he is only little). One dys I left it on the verndah to dry, and he needed to go to the toilet. Rather than just go on the spot where the tray is kept, he actually hunted down the tray and went in it. Also, he keeps all his toys in one spot, when he is finished playing, or it is time to go to bed, he puts them away. When it is time to go for a wlk, he brings my running shoes to the lounge. Now that is a smart dog.

Dogs are stupid ? What about the useless cats. When was the last time a cat actually followed orders ? And don't tell me they don't follow commands because they're in their own world where they do their own thing. A pet is a pet and cats are STUPID. Dogs are amazing loyal animals (most of them). And I completely agree with what the other people said that, "Dogs aren't stupid ... its their owners"

Dogs aren't stupid, the owners are. A dog can only learn what his owner teaches him. If his owner is too lazy to train the dog, that can't possibly be the dogs fault.

I am afraid I completely disagree with your statement that dogs are stupid. After all, they get us to take care of them, feed them, house them, etc. Doesn't sound stupid to me ... ???
