i really like tattoos and have 2, left ankle and right shoulder, and i'd really like to get more on my lower back and my left arm maybe a sleve ? will having tattoos on my arms where they can be seen change what people think of me ?

Seems like the two you have are plenty.
Think of it like jewelry, a couple nice pieces are noticeable and attractive. When you pile it on it all is garbled together and no one piece stands out.
I think the day will come that you regret you got tatoos on your arms. Many people are having theirs removed which is expensive, painful and not 100 percent effective.
Depending on your career or what you want to do for a career it can really hurt you in many circumstances and give people a negative opinion of you. Overall people with a lot of tatoos are not judged favorably on first appearance. Why put a negative strike against you? Of course, if your profession is tattoo artist, etc. then it won't hurt you.

I can't believe you got so many negative responses on here!
First off tattoos aren't trashy unless YOU are trashy.....they don't make a person who they are.
I have a small tattoo on my left arm and a larger one on my right arm, both are up high and aren't visible unless i wear a cap-sleeve shirt or a tank top or dress. I love that they show when I wear clothing like this because they are a part of my personality that people will get to see sometimes!
Just be ready to have people look at them and not your face, cause some people will do that. Seriously though its all in how you carry yourself and how you present yourself to the world. If they are a part of who you are and your expression then it shouldn't matter where they're at.
I almost got one on my forearm but after gettin the larger one on my upper arm I'm glad I didn't. I think i may have had anxiety about not being able to cover it as easily. so that's a though about the half sleeve. Maybe start with a quarter sleeve and see how you feel about it before extending the tattoo down to your elbow.
I live in a town where it is VERY acceptable to have tattoos, for men and women alike, and for women to have lots and even a sleeve or two. I feel lucky that I'm not isolated by the fact that i have four tattoos.

Well some people easily judge others because of tattoos. Thats wrong... "Dont ever judge a book by its cover". I think a girl with tattoos with arm tattoos are okay. My aunt has a beautiful one on her arm of a tribal mermaid with two dolphins, and yet she is one closest relative. And we got closer cause of tattoos since I've always wanted one and she helps me. Everyone thinks she's great even if she has an arm tattoo and several others. Even if some people think arm tattoos on a girl look trashy, I still respect their opinions. Just as long whatever design you plan to get is something meaningful to you.

You can have any tattoo your soul wishes to desire, don't let anyone tell you different but understand this.... you make your bed, now you lay in it. A pretty tattoo behind the ear, on the foot, leg or lower back is nice if its a feminine tattoo, something pretty and colorful but grungy heavy metal tattoos like cluttered skulls on the sleeves gives off a different attitude and might give off the wrong impression about you. It might attract other women because women like seeing them on men so there you have it. You wouldn't want to see a pretty colorful lower back tattoo on a man, right? Unless your a man and your with your boyfriend.

i personally love the look of tattoos, as long as people use judgement and get something done that is a peice of art. id love to eventually get more tattoos, (on my arms as well) but am waiting until ive really considered what career i want to have for the rest of my life and know if having a tattoo could interfere with that.

I have 5 tattoos, and Im not stopping yet. I have tattoos on both my inner arms and honestly they're my favorite. I say go for it but remember, it is permanent! :)

unfortunately yes. although they are becoming more acceptable people still have there opinions, but that's all it is someones opinion. if it's something you want then go for, but be ready for the consequences of getting visible tattoo's. most places don't allow visible tattoos and whatnot.
i don't know why everyone is so obsesed with weither it's femine or masculine ... it's all the same if you want a sleeve with skulls and cross bones down your whole arm then go for it that's you and visa versa with flowers. as long as you get something that represent you who cares. my parents are against me gettng a quarter, but it's my body and that's me. so DO YOU!!!!
