My son's 6 months tomorrow and can't sit up by himself yet. I'll put him in a sitting position but he just falls forward like he's folded in half and then starts crying. He also doesn't push up and down with his arms like you see babys doing on their bellies like a push up. He just rests his weight on his forearms. He can lift his head really well and roll from back to front really easily. Should I be worried?????

Set him up on the floor with pillows supporting him. His bottom needs to flatten :) Also sit him in a high chair, while you are doing stuff in the kitchen, that will help. He sounds like he is doing fine, if you are worried talk to your ped. He will get there, I know you are anxious for him to get to these milestones, but he will, don't rush him into growing up too fast! They do that too soon as it is!

No, you shouldn't be worried. My son is going to be 7 months in a few days and he's only just starting to sit for a short period. Help him out by sitting him on the floor more often and put pillows around him so he doesn't get hurt when he falls over or you could sit on the floor with him, I like ti hold my sons hands while he sits, it helps to build his coordination and muscles with him doing most of the work.. And for him not lifting himself up very well, just have a belly time everyday for about an hour, which can be spread out through the day. Just be sure to watch him closely, when my son puts his head down he keeps it down, you don't want him to suffocate himself.

Don't worry. Babies develop at their own time. I have a 4 month old and he is rolling over alittle bit but I keep him up sitting in the recliner. With my other kids I just piled blankets or pillows around them.

Most babies sit up alone at 8 months. The "push ups" come at around 7 months.

don't be worried. Babies go on their own time. My nephew Donovan couldn't sit up without help completely till he was 8 months and started crawling not even a week later. My niece Emilie started crawing before she could sit up...

as for the pushing up thing...just give lots of tummy time and he'll get it. good luck

First, i might walk around without stirrups and do leg routines making specific which you're sitting precise. Then %. up the trot, and take a seat such as you may on the walk, do no longer annoying up! bounce with the trot, and permit your legs carry, attempt to experience the pony and how he strikes below you. in case you should, carry the pommel of the saddle. as quickly as you have mastered the sitting trot w/out stirrups then you definately can circulate directly to going with stirrups - this is in certainty lots greater stable - ensure you do a similar sort of element and then initiate discovering to wrap your leg around the pony to get your seat down. stable success!

At this point, you shouldnt be worried. All babies are different, and their milestones hit at different ages. It is all up to you though! Make sure you buy certain toys to encourage and entice your child to be more independent. All the toys out there do really work in helping children to evolve, so take advantage of them. Try BabyCenter.com and link to their store. They can sort the toys by age. Enjoy your baby!

I wouldn't worry, all babies are different. Just keep trying. The more practice they get, the faster they pick up on things. Try sitting him up with a few of his favorite toys infront of him to motivate him. Once he realizes what he can do, he'll do it all the time!

I wouldn't be worried everyone has their own milestones when they are ready. Was he premature? If he was you have to remember then he really isn't as old as he is, that is what my doctor has told me and what I read. If you are really worried take him in for a wellness checkup!! Good Luck!!!
