Very nice statements and question. The Bird, we take it Karmayogi - the one who is engrossed to perform all his selected/ chosen and obligatory duties thill they bear some fruit which will benefit himself as well as all around and with him. Initially he has no expectations of fruits also. For this bird, to fly high and high TWO wings are required. The one is knowledge and the other devotion. Knowledge gives him all ins and outs of sky and situations, opportunities and obstacles, tacts and shortcuts, makes himself aware of his ability and strength, means and instruments, shows the ways and all. Devotion gives him the dedication, zeal, ambition, honest efforts an strong determination to complete the journey.

If one wing is devotion another wing is the wisdom . The wisdom which tells us that no scriptures or monastic orders is required to reach the divine. This wisdom relieves us from all our accumulated knowledge which had become a load to the bird .Released from the burden of knowledge and pure bhakti one can drink the divine rays.Wisdom that we are nothing in front of that divine.

That single winged deformed bird can't go. The poor thing has to watch while all of his "perfect" two winged friends fly off to drink the fire water.

One is spiritual part of life and the other is materialistic part of life. With these two wings human being has to fly. If we use any one of the wings, there will not be balance and we will have to fall down.
