How about asking the doctor who prescribed the tests to explain the results? You are talking about changes in the spinal vertebra and also the intervertebral discs. The thecal sac is a membrane which surround the nerve roots which come off the spine.

Thankfully, at that level of the spine, the individual nerves are floating freely in the cerebospinal fluid. They can float right past a bulging disc. The degenerative changes are early arthritis type findings. I would say you are safe to do any activity you would like, as long as you are not uncomfortable in the back afterwards.
