In comparison to the repressive-by comparison USA, there's a continent where the sorts of hate-agendas against girls/women with respect to abortion rights, and against gays is virtually nonexistent by comparison. Nudity is no big deal, and there's far less censorship. I wonder if THEY would have been infested with RRR ("Religious" Radical Right) cultists instead of US, if the Puritans had decided NOT to cross the Atlantic. (If so, the best-case scenario probably would have been for their ship to have sunk in the mid-Atlantic, thus sparing BOTH continents from their abject stupidity.)
Europe ALSO has a wondrous and on-time rail system, and satellite phones are commonplace. Phones that are FAR better than the USA's cell phones.

To those who wonder why I don't move to that continent that I so much admire... it's only because it would be feasably impossible to move my small business and its trained staff there. So I guess I'll just have to settle with continuing my frequent idyllic visits there.

To "realchurchhistorian" -- I never said Europe was perfect, but it's better than here in many ways that are important to me. Such as those I listed above.
To "RantingRach" -- Good response!
To "kskwwjd" -- My direct ancestors came over on the Mayflower. They were PILGRIMS, not Puritans. The Puritans did the America NO favors in terms of the repressive legacy they passed down, which still afflicts the USA in the 21st century. Unfortunately, bigots are good at breeding... and then teaching it to their kids.
To "maguyver727" -- You are welcome to your xenophobia. If it's contagious, please keep clear of me!
As for those cab drivers... how many of them have BEEN to the USA? You know the old saying about "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence?" Well, I live on one side of it, and have spent weeks at a time on the other, 11 times now. So I know what I like about Europe from first-hand experience. And I *love* its absence of "religiosity*!"

To "realchurchhistorian" -- The paragraph above about cab drivers is part of my response to you. Somehow, that response got divided up.

To "So Cute" -- Dew tell. Isn't it interesting then, that I just now answered a response to another person's response, who had re-responded (using the "Edit" feature) THREE days later. And too -- by so doing, my additional details help other people to see more of the overall picture that pertains to the question.
So it looks like YOU are the idiot.

If there was a war between the EU and the USA, then the EU would win, because nearly every other country in the world will fight with them. The USA only holds power in terms of business. If all the big business moved off-shore, then they USA would fall hard and quick. And I don't even need to bring George Bush into this.
Europe has far more culture than the US ever will, and yes they have religion there, but Atheism is more socially acceptable than in the USA.
Why do more people immigrate to the US. Because the EU has tougher immigration laws. People will go to wherever they can get into easily. Just look at what was happening in the UK for a long period - they were letting anyone in, until it became a problem.

Roadrat:
Europe's population is dying out because their so hasty to abort and so full of such "freedom" that they have virtually no family structures left.
So, they have to import families from the middle east to keep up with the labor and education needs, and will soon be dominated by a people who consider your "lucky" concept to be the most devlish concept in history. The forced conversions to Islam in Europe are within a decade at this rate.
If the US didn't keep them safe for the last 60 years, they'd be speaking Russian or Arabic across the entire continent.
So, go learn something....

The only luck Liverpool had over the two legs was the possible penalty in the first game. No question it was a penalty on Babel tonight and would've been a second penalty after Fabregas (I think) tugged on Babel's shirt as he slotted away the fourth goal. Yes, so, Liverpool won by TWO GOALS... So, I didn't see any luck and that penalty in the first leg (which it wasn't anyway) would still have only made it one.

The picture you painted of people drowning in the middle of the Atlantic was appalling. These people and the ones that followed were not perfect, but they did want certain freedoms and were willing to die for them- many of them did. Some of those people were my ancestors..........I would not describe them as stupid-
You might want to read some books and journals from that time and get to know those people and why they made those decisions.
Maybe you should count your blessings - the first one might be living in the United States of America.
One thing I have learned over the years- do not complain about your blessings....enjoy, appreciate, and protect them

So what are you honestly suggesting:
Burn Christians and Scientists at the stake,
Hate Jews and kill them every generation or so,
Establish Government Churches,
go to war with neighboring states every few years,
have police riots after every rigged football game?
Sounds pretty cool.
You live in the greatest nation on Earth and envy the Wanna-bes.
If you love Europe so much, then move. When I am in the taxi cabs in Europe, I do not hear the drivers extolling the virtues of their society.

The question now is how much longer this lifestyle can be sustained in light of dwindling unrenewable resources and only man-made borders between Europe and the unprecedented migrations of multitudes from lands already decimated by supporting and paying for your lifestyle with their cheap labor and being blackmailed out of their resources.
Have you read about the coltran that your mobile phone depends upon? Of course, I'm addressing "middle-class" living wherever it appears and no matter which wacko pseudo religion reigns.

Yeah, but their cell phones are FAR more expensive, at least in terms of service plans. I say that because I've had a European cell phone, and still have it. Their open attitudes have their drawbacks, as well; Europe and the US are both in the middle of an immigration crisis, at least in terms of who is flooding their countries and from where.

Europe also has lots of right wing nationalists, flag waving Turk-fearing Islamophobes, skinheads, and soccer mobs.
Let us be honest with ourselves. Nobody entirely has it right. Neither the USA... or Europe.

Europe is a Godless continent composed of many countries whose populations are so self absorbed they no longer procreate. the governments are now offering these selfish, faithless, simpletons cash rewards for having babies. the very real fear of the governments is that there are not enough babies being born to support an economy and thus a nation in the future.
sounds like a great place.
I'll donate towards your travel there......if you promise to stay.

About cell phones...the telephone (land line) company in the US has to make avaiable a phone for every US house hold. Not true for othe countries. it cost less to put up a cell tower then it does to run lines to every house.
