If that was true why do people who suffer brain injuries often end up with completely altered personalities. The brain determines the personality, damage the brain, you damage the personality.

No, it does not have a brain of it's own, it is there for YOU to use YOUR Brain.

Your True Conscience is----YOU---you are a spirit (invisible) you look Just Like your body.

You (a spirit) use your Soul (spiritual super-computer) to control your body.
Your soul fits over your Brain.
You control your Soul, your Soul manipulates the brain activity to do what you want to do.
Walk,run so on.
Your Soul is your second-mind, what the world calls the sub-conscious, and it ALMOST has a life of it's own, but it don't.
That soul was given to you by GOD and it will be with you from now on.
Hope this helps.
Ditto.

The soul does not have a brain...the brain is physical. The soul is not. The soul does have your composite mind. As for your conscience...that is formed by all the social taboos you have come to accept and your physical mind has been taught by others to be judgemental, therefore it nags you

It is my personal belief that the brain and the soul are two different parts of a human being. And, yes in a way I guess you could say that the soul seems to have a brain of its own. Often, what my head wants is clearly different than what my spirit seeks.

The soul is the mind, will and emotions. The brain is a conduit for the expression of the soul while on planet earth.

The spirit is the real you or "spiritual heart" and may communicate with God after being regenerated by the Spirit of God.

The soul is your conscience and you. Your heart and brain are attached to your soul, but your soul is what continues when those stop. It is your personality, your character, everything about you.

your mind starts in your brain. everything that goes on in your mind is transfered to your soul. it's like your brain and soul are computers on the same network, however, if one computer crashes (the brain) the soul will not crash.

if your brain is messed up though, it will affect your soul as your soul copies the information, and shares much of your mind's subtle attributes. if you cannot process information, your soul gets no information. however, the soul does not die and can function aside from the brain, even able to learn aside from the brain (an OBE) but not on earth (physical, feeling)

In the vedas, it is explained that the soul is carried along by the mind, intelligence and ego (or will). These three comprise a subtle body. The soul itself is part and parcel of the Supreme, and as such is pure consciousness, and full of knowledge. No separate mind is necessary.

In my opinion the "soul" and consciousness are synonymous, and the brain is just the catalyst for your body to enacting the messages your consciousness is sending and thus in my semi-uncertain opinion, the soul and body share a brain, or system of thought anyway.
