Based on reputation alone, it seems that the concesus is that Toyota/Lexus is spotless.
I prefer to NOT to let a reputation sway my opinions especially when it comes to vehicles.
Read the following links AND have ANY vehicle checked out (by a well qualified technition) first..
The Toyota/Lexus reputation is getting a little tarnished:
2007 article:

But this has actually been 'swept under the rug' for a much longer time!
2002 article:

Please, Do not go by just a few opinions, dig a little deeper.
Spend a little money first, to have it inspected. It could save you alot in the long run

Lexus's are very reliable vehicles and the RX330 is considered one of the quiestest, most reliable, most luxurious, safest, and fuel efficient vehicles in its class. It is also an Ultra Low emissions Vehicle II. There is not much difference between the RX330 and the brand new RX350, so a used RX330 is a great deal. You might think that cars before are questionable at 100,000 miles, but this is a Lexus you are talking about, and a pretty new model too. My friend has a ~1990 Lexus ES250 and it runs well even though it has +200,000 miles. These new Lexus's are a lot better an can easily go 200,000+ miles. 72k miles can be a lot for some cars, but shouldn't be for a pretty new Lexus. However, test drive the vehicle and see if you like it. If the previous owner seems to be on track with the maintainence records, you should be fine. Just keep up the maintence when you get the car and you could easily drive 200,000+ miles on this Lexus. I am not just saying it has good reliability. If you check Consumer Reports magazine, you'll see the RX330 has excellent reliability. If you don't have a Consumer Reports magazine, you should invest in their annual auto issue before you get a used car.
It is true according to Ethol that you should research before buying a car, but I can guarantee that if you test drive and like the car, your Rx would be a very reliable car. If you research on consumer opinions, of course there are going to be those who say there are problems. However, Toyota Motor Corporation is becoming the largest car company in the U.S. and the world surpassing the entirre GM Motors Company, so out of the millions of cars it sells, of course it's going to have a few reports of minor problems. I'm sure that if you keep your car properly maintained, The RX can drive for a really long time. You can also have the peace in mind that you are driving a car that has won many awards and is probably the most comfortable SUV out there.

IF ANYONE WANTS MORE PROOF, I HAVE THOUSANDS OF CONCRETE FACTS AND EVIDENCE THAT DISPROVES THAT A MERCEDES IS BETTER THAN A LEXUS OR ANY OTHER JAPANESE CAR!

That kind of mileage on a Lexus is not an issue if:
1) The car has been properly maintained - ask the seller for maintenance records.
2) The miles are "gentle" miles - mostly highway or suburban traffic - (not city miles).
You can also check out Kelly Blue Book's web site for a fair 'private party' price on the car.
Good luck!

Lexus is manufactured by the Toyota Corporation. Toyotas and Lexus both have outstanding repuations for being dependable, long lasting cars. I would say you could get AT LEAST another 72,000 miles out of the car. However, check out what the car is worth at www.kbb.com. This will tell you exactly if you are paying too much. But have no fear about the name Lexus, its an outstanding car.

Check out the blue book value of that car. Also make sure that it was serviced by a Lexus dealer and there is sufficient documentation that the service was done as specified in the manual. If it's a certified used car by a Lexus dealer, I wouldn't worry. If it's from a private seller, then just make sure you can verify the service record.

In general 72 K is low miles for a well maintained car, esp. a Lexus. The price will certainly be a factor on whether its ok to buy.
