I'm trying to lose some weight and mostly slim down in my waist (stomach and love handles). Not obese but have a little beer belly and such, and just wondering if anyone had any good work out ideas to help me out... thanks!

Eat Veggies, grilled skinless chicken breasts, and grilled fish.

Cross training is really a great way to go.

Sunday - Try running a mile then walking a mile. If you can't do the full mile running that is fine. Push as far as you can.

Monday - Run .10 mile sprints 5 times. Cool down between each. Jog/speed walk .5 mile.

Tuesday - Ride a stationary bike for 45 minutes. Then do 35 of each.

Sit ups
Crunches
Bicycle Sit ups

Wednesday - Take off and let your body heal.

Thursday - Run again. Same as Monday. Push as best you can.

Friday - Weight Training. Work on your upper boddy and lower body.

Saturday - Take off.

A lifestyle of eating healthy and working out properly will change your body in dramatic ways. Be patient. Results come with time, not overnight.

Note - Increase your workout as you get in better shape. Go on runs of longer distance. Ride longer on the bike. Lift more weight or add more reps. Good luck!

BOTH!
Cardio is vital to any weight loss/slimming down program. Getting that heart-rate up will burn lots of calories and do wonders for cardiovascular health, your energy level, sleeping patterns...basically everything. Weight lifting will quickly build muscle (which I'm sure you already knew). The cool thing is that muscle takes a lot of calories to maintain. This means that as you get more muscle, you will start burning more and more calories while you are doing nothing. If your main goal is just to slim down moderately fast, cardio should be your first priority but I would definitely try to incorporate at least some weight lifting into your routine. Good luck!

You're not going to "cut" with weight lifting alone. And you're not going to get "big" with cardio alone. So you need to do both. i reccommend running. it sucks, but the more you do it, the less it does. (suck)

and if you're starting out, start slow. don't try benching 225 and running 5 miles if you've never lifted or ran. And more importantly than anything else, watch what you eat, and get appropriate amount of sleep.

if you eat junk, your body will show it. and if you're not sleeping, your body isn't going to regenerate the way it's supposed to, your motivation will drop, and you'll feel like doing nothing.

Both because cardio will get rid of the extra fat and weight lifting will make your body burn more calories, even at rest, thereby getting rid of even more fat. Plus the weight lifting will give you muscle definition. Good luck!!

cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (we cant spot reduce body fat) - running, cycling, swimming, jogging, elliptical, rope jumping etc. - do it 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (preferably 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat) - mix them up, the more you keep your body guessing the more weight you are gona lose.
combine it with light weight training to tone up instead of losing muscle about 2-3 days a week.

Swap a bowl of pasta for the bowl of vegetables. You can preserve to 200 calories by slicing the starch and adding produce.

Be a kid again! When eating out, order a new child’s sandwich, pizza or pizza. Then you can have the treats you love, while reducing your portions and lowering your calorie intake.
