Because some people think if you don't agree with what they believe you're wrong.
That keeps them in a bad place because you can only go forward if you open your mind. That doesn't mean you have to change your mind....just respect the other guys point of view.
This goes for believers and non-believers.

Well, Rebecca, I'm assuming that you are quite young, or that you are a non-native English speaker. Please keep studying.
As far as why people don't respect other's religions, it is because there are a few religions that teach that all others are wrong; that those who believe them are going to hell, are evil, or some such thing.
Too, there are religions that wish to codify their beliefs into the laws of the land; they claim persecution when a state or country allows gay people to be married; forgetting that the constitution (at least in the United States) was designed to provide for liberty, as opposed to stringently enforcing a particular faith's beliefs.
When religion mixes with politics, liberty ALWAYS suffers.

We can and should respect the people and their right to choose any religion they want to. What we can't do it to say that any religion is just as good as any other. That would imply that they are all false and our beliefs don't really matter. We must share the love of Jesus with people and let them know how they can go to heaven, by placing their trust in Jesus.

You are right. The pride of men is the cause. None are willing to admit that they might not be 100% correct.
I believe in a personal relationship with my creator...and I allow Him and only Him to lead me in my beliefs. He has given me three words to pass on to others. They are:
All worship is acceptable if it comes from the heart.
A personal relationship with God is the key to having eternal life in his presence.
I am not to tell others how to worship or what to believe or disbelieve.

I respect everyone's views. How boring we would all be if we all thought, felt and acted the same.
