Does anyone know how to get fleas out of back yard,without harming my dog.Could be being brought in by stray cats and squirrels.Without costing a fortune.

Go to a pet store or a hardware store (cheaper at a hardware store :)) and look in the pesticide and weed control section for flea killer. Some of it you spray, some of it is powder and you sprinkle it. Whatever you use, be sure to read the instructions. Usually it will say to keep your dog off the lawn for 24 hours and to reapply every __ weeks. Be SURE to reapply or they will come back. To actually get rid of fleas, you need to treat your yard and yor dog, maybe your home also if you still have a problem. I spent a few months dealing with a flea infestation and trying to use cheap non-prescription products. My best advice is to just go to the vet and get a prescription for frontline or advantage. All the others that they sell w/o a prescription at wal-mart etc don't work worth anything. Good Luck!!! Fleas are tough to kill...

There really is no way to ensure that your yard won't have fleas in. If you have stray cats and squirrels in the area, you are far better off treating your pet, with Frontline or Advantix, the medicine will repel the fleas from jumping a ride on your dog. Fleas can be a dangerous thing for your pet, as many dogs/cats are allergic to them, and if the owner doesn't bathe the dog, or is left untreated, the dog will certainly get sores from itching,licking,gnawing at their skin.

Our vet has my husky on Revolution. It protects against fleas, ticks, heartworm, and some parasites. From our vet the cost per month is minimal ($11). You put in on like Frontline. As for your yard itself, good luck.

go to a pet store and they have thuis stuff
((i cant think of the name))
but it is stufff that you spray all over your back yard and it kills all of em!

get some seven dust and sprinkle it all over the yard won't hurt your pets. You can get it at wal-mart or most stores
