Unfortunately, as the theory of evolution marches humanity into a more and more animalistic society, being the Alpha Male, or the Hunter is considered a virtue. Weakness in the animal world is not tolerated, and for a male being a virgin, is considered 'weak'. Also, the constant bombardment of Hollywood, and commercials or the fast paced life of celebrities which young people look up to, don't help the situation any. Sex has become a social tool to many, to be able to 'fit in' with the rest. It is considered quite a bit more shameful here in the Mediterrenean, where the male's worth is defined by how many women he can get into his bed, and is goaded by even his own father to become sexually active at a very early age. I consider this to be wrong. We are depriving children of their childhood, forcing them to grow up faster and faster. That should be considered shameful.

It's not considered shameful until that person reaches a certain age. That age has been decreasing steadily because many Americans have started viewing sex as a "cool" factor, unfortunately. What I find most shameful, however, is that many of my fellow Americans think that way, and sometimes measure a person's worth by the amount of partners they've had.

Actually i'm still a virgin...Nothing shameful about that, its by choice of course. Its rather shameful when you're 15 and already lost your virginity...it says a lot about your character. Taking it slow, till my make my mind up.

It's not shameful, it's just not a preferable state. I do not believe that sex is wrong if both are consenting adults. Why should I deny myself something that is pleasurable and not harmful to anyone. I'm an adult, I can deal with the consequences.

Oh no, that is not true. I think that the purity is worth trying again even after the actual virginity is lost.

I don't know. All I know is I won't even buy a pair of shoes without trying them on first, and someone wants me to make a life long commitment without trying him on? No Way!
