ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!
The dark colored walls will punch with the blonde floors and you'll love the look.
Go for it! After all, it's only paint... you can always redo it if you don't like it.... but I doubt you'll feel that way!

You can use whatever colors you like! I like the look of rich dark or bold colors. It works especially well if you have a lot of windows for light and lighter colored or white trim. Since your floor is light, that will help. It also works to use lighter colored curtains, especially white.
I read on HGTV to use a large mirror on one wall also. Don't be afraid of dark colors.
In my own experience, as long as I put plenty of white into a room, I can use a dark color on the walls. My kitchen is a very deep rich green but the cabinets, trim, woodwook, miniblinds, valances, clock, and framed mirror are all white. The floor is a lighter beige, but I want to put in light wood laminate. It's a great look.
I plan to paint the top half of my small bathroom navy and leave the white tile on the bottom half. I have white with navy stripe trim shower curtain, towels and a white rug. I think it will look nice.

Depends on how big the room is, and how much light it has.
If you have light colored furniture, say pale or light green, paint the walls a deeper version of that color [ medium or dark green ].
Or do some contrast and use pumpkin or amber.
Just make sure the shades you use are repeated in the room somewhere :furniture, drapes, pillows, rug, and other accessories.
Example: multiple green leaf print on sofa, chairs; dark green leaf color on walls, green/gold/pumpkin rug, gold and pumpkin pillows, and green/gold/pumpkin stripe drapes.

Dark colors can and do go with light floors. Just remember, they also make rooms look smaller.

Yes! Doing so, I think, makes a room feel warmer and cozy. I have light hardwood floors and my walls are a dark tan/gold color.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/tPjir
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

My vote is for a sober peach or an orange, because they will make a room look bigger. But if you want to make a statement then paint it gray or red.
