An animal, one that can live safely with humans, need to be thought of, at times, as humans. Your pet is your baby.

For example, a young child may have an accident. They want to cover it up. Although dogs are a different species, they are covering up their mess. Yes, they are marking their territory, that is a dog trait. They drag their feet because they think they are throwing dirt on top of their mess.

The doggie has to cover up their business, also because they are trying to hide their mark. Also it could be for marking of their territory.

They do it to mark their territory. You'll find that dominant dogs are more likely to do it..

The dog has to cover up their mess, it might also be that he/she is trying to hide it's mark so no other dog comes to take it!Hope my advice helps.

They are doing the dance of joy. They feel great after that,happy dogs they are!;^)

Their cleaning up their mess that they made in their way the mom teaches them to do that... along with the bad trait of eating their own poop (EWW)
