Depends on my mood. For tuna melts, its finely chopped onion, little relish, miracle whip. For a regular tuna sandwich on bread, its tuna, chopped green onion, tiny squirt of Dijon, real mayo and a little dill. It really all depends on what I have at taste for. They are both good, sometimes I want something sweeter and sometimes savory. Oh and often I add hardboiled egg.

There are several options of mix-ins to make a yummy tuna salad every time. Here's a list of tuna salads to make, with various ingredients.

Traditional (for me, anyway)

Tuna in water, drained
Mayo, to taste
Tomato, diced
Onion, diced
Pickle, diced

For something a little extra, I add in some ranch dressing. This is my all time favorite! I love it on bread, with crackers, or plain, eaten with a fork. You can also add in some cheese.

Zippy Tuna Salad

Tuna in water, drained
Onion, diced
Cheese, shredded
Celery, diced
Mayo, to taste
A few dollops of horseradish spread

The horseradish gives it a little kick!

Extra veggie Tuna Salad

Tuna in water, drained
Tomato, diced
Onion, diced
Celery, diced
Black olives, diced
Mushrooms, diced
Green peppers, diced
Ranch dressing to taste

I've never had this, but just put the idea together. Sounds good to me!

Tuna in a salad

Shredded or chopped lettuce
Cottage cheese, 1/2 cup
Cheese, shredded
Tomato, diced
Ranch dressing, or favorite dressing, to taste
Croutons or crushed crackers
Top with tuna in water, drained

This is like a chef-style salad, with tuna. Add in whatever fixings you like.

Here's a list of other things you might like to try in your tuna salad:

Hot peppers
Various shredded cheeses (Parmesan, cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, Colby)
Various dressings (salad dressing, such as miracle whip, ranch dressing, Cesar dressing, mayo, gourmet mayo, such as chipolte)
Cucumber
Sprouts
diced carrots
peas
hard boiled egg (to make a egg-tuna salad)
grapes, cut in half

There are so many more options! You should especially check out the produce section for fresh veggies to add in.

Yummy.

Always miracle whip and either finely chopped dill pickles, or chopped celery and onion. And some black pepper. I like to make it the day before, then refrigerate overnight so the flavors develope nicely.

If you are referring to canned flaked or chunk tuna, I usually put Kraft Miracle Whip in mine..not too much though, makes it too soggy after awhile. I then add some black pepper, a dash of salt, and to put a zing to it, some finely chopped spring onion, and some cayenne pepper if I want a little more spice. Pretty simple but tasty!

mayo (hellmans is the one I prefer to use.)
a small squirt of mustard
salt
pepper
diced onions
small pieces of hard boiled egg
diced celery
and if I don't have celery, I use a little bit of pickle relish (NOT SWEET, I use the dill kind)

I never measure, I just eyeball it. You might like more of certain things and less of others...
