My mate chose me and I went along for the ride 23 years ago. It's been just ducky.

I chose my cat out of P.A.W.S.. He was fully grown (well 8 months old) and I fell in love with him because he had just arrived in the shelter with his sister and she was scarfed up right away but there he sat and I felt so sorry for the guy and knew he was a goner cuz nobody wants a full grown cat so we've been together for 15 years now and I have never regretted it. He is my buddy

No mate, *sigh*, but I chose my cats.

No, I'm going to change that, I think we chose each other. Foxy was adopted from the shelter because I found the way she laid on her back with her little paw through the cage, toying with my finger, endearing.

Sammy was a kitten I fell in love with, but who was promised to someone else. So I chose the only one left-a hideously deformed looking thing called Monica. With black lips and fangs that stick out, she's truly possessing a face that only a mother can love. I felt pity for her, and once I had her in my arms she crawled to my shoulder and snuggled in my hair. We bonded immediately.

An hour or so later, I learned that I could have Sammy. I took Monica with me to retrieve her, and the owner asked if I was trading the ugly one in. I responded with, "Not on your life," and ended up keeping them both.

I now have three female cats to balance out my three sons. It works well for us.

When I look back over 40 years of marriage, my wife and I, and others, often wondered why we ever got married. But eventually there turned out to be some very good reasons. Neither of us chose one another - He did.

We choosed each other. I have a pet bird, he choosed me. He wouldn't let the pet store manager handle him, but he came right to me and let me handle and pet him.

I chose most of my stuffed animals, but some of them were chosen for me by my family and friends. But once they see what a wonderful mother I am to stuffed animals, they would choose me if they were given the chance, I'm sure!

I thought I chose him and he says he chose me.

He claims he saw me first and I'm sure I saw him first.

I definitely made the first move. We're still together...after many years.

My kitty and I chose each other.
