Christianity, Islamic, Catholic and Jews are all religions based on being at peace with the world but seems people keep finding reasons to use religion to separate us even further apart from each other. Despite the subtle differences, we seek one main goal. Peace.

God couldn't even prevent war in heaven (Lucifer's uprising), and he's "perfect". Why should we be able to on Earth?

imagine if you and 4 other people all had a completely opposite idea of what color the sky was. Imagine you KNEW it was blue, another man KNEW it was green, another KNEW it was teal and the last man KNEW it was grey. Now imagine that each of these men had millions of people who saw the sky in the exact same way. They would say that those who saw it in any other color were wrong. Much of the fighting that happens between religions is because of a few bad eggs who feel that not only is the sky the color they see it but that they have to berate and bully those who see it as another color until they are in the majority. Most truly religious people can feel that their religion is right and can want others to believe in it as well without fighting in any sense. I am a religious studies major with a degree in the field and the more I study all these religions, the more similar they become. At some point, people just started fighting over something that was slightly different than what they believed. I wish that everyone could see that the sky is all those colors and more.

Only Christianity and Catholic have peace at its core. Because Christ is the Prince of Peace.

Sorry but Islam is based on domination not peace. If you don't believe you are an infidel to be killed or converted.

So get a clue. Either fight Islam or join them, there is no middle ground.

Religion does not seek peace (in the social sense). Peace is only side product of each religion's main goal.

Personal peace is another story. And "subtle" is hardly the word when comparing religions.

An utter misapprehension; all religions seek power for their leaders and extort what they can from their gullible followers. Christ like Lenin brought in rules and a game plan for peace but as w. Communism it was mismanaged and absolute power led to absolute corruption; w/out competition of ideas w/in systems monotheism's and one party governments inevitably collapse. The fighting is borne out of completion for resources between systems fighting for power, even butterflies don't really want peace, never-mind religions!

because they do not follow the true religion, Do you know that the correct meaning of religion is The Mercifully call of our Mercifull Creator to Guide human beings to the only true , straight and peace full way to live in this life , I belive the problem comes from the people themselves as they belive they are right and the others are wrong. while there is only one religion, the religion (Gaudiness to the Truth of every thing) of the Mercifull God. that have being brought down through His Messengers to all human kind..

We seek Peace, but some take religion personal and overseeds peace. They are called hypocrites. Religion and blood have run parallel since the dawn of time. From the crusades of rome, Christian take over in America, buddhist monks fighting off invasion, and the middle east crisis. Let's not forget the bombing of abortion clinics and the muslim attacks on foriegn liqour store owners in California. People who shed blood in the name of their religion usually have hidden agendas. Their god sheds tears for them.

Not "being at peace with the world" but being at peace with God. This world is impossible to be at peace with because it is always against us. It is ruled by the Evil One until the time is fulfilled.

It's one of the great ironies of humanity that religions based on love are the source of all the hatred in the world.

If you ask me, I think it's because religious leaders become corrupt. They develop egos and drift off God's message and start teaching their own message. Or they align themselves with political powers in hopes of becoming rich and famous. Or they tell their followers what they want to hear, for instance that God loves us but hates those who believe differently.

because "peace" and "fear" don't go together well
Christianity is based more on the peace of God and peace with others, not really international conflicts. but I get it don't worry

subtle differences? Christ was God, Christ was just a prophet and the Christ has not come yet. subtle?
