I have never been in your situation & I am so sorry to hear that some sick individual has done this to your poor puppy. If I were you I would find a very well experienced vet & take your dog there ASAP to see if the ears can be fixed. I wish you & your puppy all the best!!!!

I've never heard of anyone doing a "homemade" crop, but I guess anything is possible.
Most important thing is to prevent her from scratching at them and possibly tearing out the stitches.Put a cone on her to prevent scratching. I wouldn't put on any cream, as you want to keep them clean and dry, (although a little Polysporin can help when it gets to the really itchy stage) I'd take her into your vet and get some prescription antibiotics. I don't think pain meds are in order if she's still fairly young. In my experience, the younger the puppy, the easier the time they have with the cropping.
You're going through the really gross part of it right now - it only lasts for 7-10 days. Once the stitches come out, you can start taping the ears. Find a different breeder in your area and ask them for help on taping or you can find lots of on line resources on taping. I definitely wouldn't go back to the breeder you got her from for anything! (what breed, by the way?)

Take your puppy to the vet. A bad ear cropping can result in some ugly black scar tissue on the ears that will never grow hair again. Also, the ears can get infected. Besides, with a puppy and if this was done recently, maybe the vet can take care of it for you. I would definitely report the person you got the puppy from to the authorities.

Dogs are really quite resilient. The best you can do is keep it clean, use the antibiotic cream and watch for signs of infection such as foul odor, excessive inflammation, puss and more then usual tenderness. My dog cut the pad of her foot, split it WIDE open. I called the vet and they don't stitch up a wound like that, they advised me to wash it with mild soap and water, rinse it well and apply ointment and a bandage. It did heal and didn't get infected. She is fine now. Good luck with your pup, that was so sad to hear someone could do something that cruel. I'm happy you have her now and she will be well taken care of.

OMG, antibiotics right away!! Triple Antibiotic creme like you put on a cut, on the ears. And in the body if you can get some pills. And you may want to get that puppy on some pain medication right away. Acepromezine, but do not give her Tylenol or Advil. Buffered aspirin will help. Your puppy really needs LOVE and as much care as you can give, Good Luck!!

Home done ear cropping has been a problem in my area lately. You should get your puppy to the vet for a full check-up. If they would do that to a puppy, they probably didn't want to spend the money on shots either.
Hopefully she will be alright.
Good luck.

I have never done this. I tried posting the instructions I found on a website but it didn't take. The link is below.
I am so sorry you are going thru with it. I agree though, call your vet, if you don't have one, post a q here asking for referrals.
Good luck to both of you.

I would take her to a vet, a lot of vet's don't like taking in what someone else did but in this case they might. All 4 of my dog's ears are cropped and I love them. But please find a good vet to take your baby to, I would also contact the breeder, they should have given you a lot of advice before they let you take your baby with you.

I would think that your puppy would need some type of pain meds. The only way to get that would be is to go to the vet. Good Luck

I agree with all of the above! If you can't afford the vet, at least call. Definitely keep the ears as clean as possible and use the cream.
Also, have you turned these people in to your local Humane Society/Animal Control? They need to be stopped before injuring more animals!
Good luck to you and your new baby!
