Because even if Jesus existed, nobody wrote about him until decades after he died.
There are so many different views about it because there are no real gods to set anybody straight.

Why do people today create knock-off products?
They do not like the price and requirements necessary to obtain the original REAL thing...so they create a copycat that better suits their wants, desires, and needs without the original costs and requirements necessary to obtain the original.
Jesus IS the original.
His price paid and His requirements are simple and just, but they are solid as rock.
Jesus did away with the "middle-man" in all religions.
Jesus made it possible for man to petition & talk to God one-on-one.
NONE of the religious leaders of the day, then and now, wanted that. They so enjoyed their church, temple, or synagogue members having to pay them BEFORE there was any chance that their needs, sins, would be put before God Almighty. Take them out of the equation and their nice, cushy set up disappears.
Add to this, Jesus loved people period. Be they rich, poor, black, white, men, women, religious or not. Jesus did not place any legalistic religious requirements on people other than that they have a repentant, willing, accepting heart that opened and invited Him into their hearts and lives.
Talk about outraged...ticked...
All religious leaders, Jew & Gentile, they set out to shut Jesus up and see Him silenced forever BEFORE all their cushy existence and social/political power and feared reputations were destroyed.

Each religion, so dear to those whose life it sanctifies, and fulfilling so necessary a function in the society that has adopted it, necessarily contradicts every other religion, and probably contradicts itself.
— George Santayana
The major religions on the Earth contradict each other left and right. You can't all be correct. And what if all of you are wrong? It's a possibility, you know. You must care about the truth, right? Well, the way to winnow through all the differing contentions is to be skeptical. I'm not any more skeptical about your religious beliefs than I am about every new scientific idea I hear about. But in my line of work, they're called hypotheses, not inspiration and not revelation.
— Carl Sagan
If there is a God, atheism must strike Him as less of an insult than religion.
— Edmond and Jules de Goncourt

nondescript says that even if jesus was real, there are discrepanies because nobody wrote about him until decades after. I have to say that if the Bible is divine, then how can there be discrepancies?
I think that religion is created by man and not by God, and that is why there is so much disagreement. God comes to eash of us in His own way to reach each of us in the way we will accept Him, and that is why some believe that Jesus was the son, and some don't.
Also, jen says that this history is over 6 thousand years ago, but I thought it was closer to 2000????

People like to argue over disputable things. Paul warned of this happening to the teachings of Christ. Now everyone wants to be "the one" when it comes to the teachings of Christianity. The churches have become corporations. This is the deception (First Horsemen also) and "falling away the Jesus talked about "Many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He!' and will mislead many" and Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come (the end of this age), except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed.... This is NOW.
His teachings though are actually quite simple. Obey The Commandments (Love God and your neighbors as yourself). Turn away from sin. That's really it. People though can even make these difficult to follow when they are overshadowed by the traditions of not God - but MEN. Until we can realize the simplicity in Christ The religious will always be part of a house divided.
God bless

This world programs you with different points of views, God says my people will die because of lack of knowledge of my word. Only you can make a choice in what to believe in, the bible has been around longer than any Muslim bible, or Darwin's books, longer than Buddhism, so you choose your faith. I rather serve a God who carries all power, not some power. If you serve Jesus Christ and believe in his words and him; the worries of this world will not hinder you. Not even other religions, your choice my friend.

Jesus was written about before He was born to a virgin mother and after He died on the Cross for our sins. The Bible says that He was slain from the foundation of the world.

Jews rejected Jesus and the belief in Him as Messiah. Islam has nothing to do with the belief in Jesus.

It is called the apostasy. God tells us that he will not reveal His mysteries except through His servants the prophets. Without the prophets...everyone was left with trying to figure out things for themselves. Sometimes they got close...sometimes way off the mark. They did the best with what they had.
