Baptist is a denomination of Christian. One of their main beliefs is Baptism as an adult (and not as a baby) when you know what you're doing. What kind of Baptist is this church? There are different variations that range from extremely liberal to extremely conservative.

Well it all depends. The older more traditional Baptist Churches are well educated and search out the Scriptures more than most churches do. Baptist only observe 2 ordances in Church and that is Baptism and Communion (Lords Supper). Baptist teach salvation by the Grace of God through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and Baptist believe that good works and observing rituals of the Law will not grant you eternal life. Baptist believe that once you make a geniune confession of your sins, truely repent (turn away) from sin and fully give your life to Jesus Christ that you have salvation unconditionally and you can not loose that salvation. Baptist view on Baptism is that when a person is born again and genuinely professess Jesus Christ as Savior they can be Baptised. Baptist use the full submersion method of Baptism. These are the basics of the Baptist Denomination.

Although it's not as universal as it used to be, the main seperating factor is this;
Non-demoninational believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Baptist believe this was only a gift for the early church and should not be practiced today.
Although, T.D.Jakes is a baptist and he cleary speaks in tongues because he has said so. So they may be changing their view on this biblical practice, but I am not sure.
Another difference is this;
Baptist know how to get a person saved better than any other religion. This comes for years of focusing on this one thing. Salvation and saved from eternal fire was the end all of all.
If I want to get advice on wittnessing I will buy a baptist book.
Whereas the Non-demoninational believers generally focus on personal growth and 'deep revelation' of the word.
As if knowledge was going to be profitable for anything. Love is the profit, and love is the way. Knowledge is swallowed up by love and becomes less important.
Both are fine, you won't go to hell because you don't speak in tongues, and likewise you can get saved and simply help out in your local church without ever saving a soul and still go to heaven.
