I just bought a 4 gb memory card today and i wanted to know if my camera is compatible with it because on the website where i bought it it only said it was SD compatible? And does it make a difference if it has HC at the end?

Yes, it can make the card incompatible in many cases. Not all readers can handle the high capacity cards.

If it works, which it might, you just won't be able to use the whole 4 GB. Your camera would only know how to recognize and address 2 GB (in most cases), but it's not a major tragedy. Just use the card and you'll have it when you buy a new camera that can use the whole 4 GB.

Or - to be safe - since you just bought it today, don't even try to use it. Take it back and exchange it for a 2 GB card.

"HC" stands for high capacity.
