I would not say that fat or obese people are lazier. At least in my case. I am very fat and very obese - I carry 550 pounds on a 6 foot frome. When I left school and started my sedentary accounting job, I was a litlte more than normal at 250. I gained the 300 poiunds over a bit less than 15 years. I have not been lazy at work or at home. I continue to walk - although slowly and often waddling as my weight shifts - but I stay mobile. When I was in school I exercised a lot. I did less and less of that when I started working. I may have lost interest or I may have decided to spend my time doing other things. I definitely ate a lot and kept gaining. My wife likes to cook for me and likes me large. I am still eating as much but buring more due to my size.

I take offense to that question because instead of asking "are fat people lazier" you asked "why are they..." when the truth is that we are not. I am overweight, yet as a teacher I am on my feet all day, I am a mother, so when I get home I usually go outside and play with my son, I also assistant coach his tee ball team and swim on a regular basis. Unfortunately, my father is very overweight and it runs in our family. He also isn't lazy, he golfs on a regular basis, goes to the gym, and he's retired!
Please don't make generalizations because I know that I could swim circles around alot of skinny people and could probably challenge them to a pretty good game of basketball too.

I am one of those who is fat, no let's say very fat and very obese since I I am closing in on 400 pounds and close to 200 pounds over my pubished ideal weight. That does not make me lazy. Just because I exercise less and chose to spend more time eating and more time being sedentary is a choice I make. I still get a lot done. Now though, I get to enjoy geting very large as this happens.

That is a false blanket statement. Just because someone is lucky enough to be normal weight does NOT mean they aren't lazy. I know plenty of skinny people who don't exercise but sit on their butts all day. They are just lucky enough to have genes that makes it easy for them to maintain their weight.
Yes, some overweight people are lazy. But there are plenty of overweight people who get up and move and exercise. Sometimes they have to fight their genes--which makes it harder for them to lose weight. I think having a prejudicial attitude like that is dangerous and unfair.

Well heavier set people usually just don't have the energy to do thing that other's would. Laziness becomes an everydya thing when all they do is stay at home all day or go to work and come staright home and eat or just sleep. You have to keep your body moving at all times and eat right in order to keep your energy level up

Who says?
My mom is overweight, has been for years, and works most everybody under the table.
My sister, who is skinny, sits on her butt and watches TV.
Beware of drawing conclusions about groups in general -
it's how prejudice and civil wars are started.
To the Ladies above me - are you aware that your metabolism slows down 10% every 10 years? Wait 'til you hit 35 and your butt settles down your thighs - how many skinny old people do you know?

Most likely they got fat from being lazy in the first place.

First of all, thats quite a generalization your made.
Secondly, they get tired much faster and it take more energy for them to get up and run around than it would take a thinner person.
