My small chihuahua/jack russell terrier mix just got her shots yesterday, and everything seemed fine. Today she's been acting a little tired and has a bump at the site of the shot. I touched it and she started to yelp a bit. She's eating just fine, and drinking water just fine. Should I be worried?

I've since done a bit of research on allergic reactions with vaccines, and she isn't really showing any of those symptoms. I just found it a bit weird that she was completely fine all day yesterday after the shot, and today she started acting this way. Thank you very much for putting my mind at ease. You guys have no idea how much better it made me feel.

BTW, it wont let me give out a best answer yet, but I'll do it as soon as I can. Once again, thanks everyone.

Nope, she is just sore. Poor thing!!

This is quite common in smaller breeds. Just keep an eye on the area. You should see a big improvement tomorrow.

Call your vet. Sometimes the bumps that develop can be a form of cancer from the shot site... This especially happens in cats. To be safe, call your vet.

Then... check this site, if your dog is over 1 year old... You don't need to do more shots for 3 or more years...

Vaccinations sometimes make dogs tired, especially small dogs. Give her another day to get over it and if she doesn't, take her back to the vet, she may be having an allergic reaction to one of the shots.

This happens sometimes with the toy breeds. With the smaller breeds I never have the vet give them all at once.I have them given days apart and that doesn't happen as often. Just keep an eye on the little guy. He should be fine. Just call your vet and let them know it happened so they have a record of it. All the best;^)

No, don't worry. Happens all the time. Just keep her comfortable for a few days and she will be fine. Just like people we all feel lousy sometimes after medication or shots.

I am sure he is just sore from the shot. I hurt when I get a shot. Keep an eye out for infection. Most vets give out aan aftercare sheet. Did you get one?

This is a common and normal side reaction. Nothing to worry about unless things worsen. She should be fine in a day or so.

well my chihuahua just got his shots last week and nothing like that happened. he was as hyper as ever. the vet told us if we saw ANY swelling to bring him back asap bc he could be having an allergic reaction to the shots so you should at least call your vet and ask, if not take her in just to be safe.

Not at all uncommon. Alot of dogs get that way after vacines. Just watch her and in a day or two she will be herself again.
