Ok firstly he is your ex. If you are trying to impress him or get back together with him then talk about the good times you had and the things you laughed about. You could also then talk about the things want to do. Sometimes it just comes from the heart and be honest.

Men like to talk about themselves...so you can always ask him about some event in your together-history where he did something...and ask why he did it, you have always been wondering. Or ask about any projects he ever discussed. Or ask about any personal hobbies or ask about his family members. Then, really listen and keep him talking about the subject. Demonstrate you are genuinely interested in what he thinks, what he has to say and who he is as a person. Good luck.

Invite him over for dinner. Talk to him while watching a movie or something. Don't think just let the words flow. It should work out for you.

ask him out for lunch or dinner...the word that u tryin to find will come out by itself..if u tryin so hard to find a words to make him happy u r not goin to find it because ur brain cannot make decision which word u should use...ask how is he..usually for me if i want to make he happy i will asked him to play ps2 with me..play game that he love...soccer of course..and let him win..(guys always win in this game..)..his ur ex rite..and of coz u know what he likes.. gud luck

Ok so next time u walk by him make sure ur with ur girls, and bump his shoulder turn and say sorry then say " hey (dudes naem) wuts up? wow long time no see. so wut u been up to lately?" and there u have a convo
