without going through a designated Port of Entry?
The border is an International Boundry. We are a different country from Mexico and Canada.

petey...the wall is irrelavant to a motivated person that spends money to legalize instead of on a coyote to smuggle them in.

tg79, metro and petey are typical liberals who defend their positions using emotion instead of logic. I applaud your effort to use FACTS in the various positions you've supported. Mendi, the reason US citizens can cross without a problem is that we spend money in Mexico and leave when we are done. It all comes down to $$$

I have know idea why so many people believe it is OK to break our laws and then expect us to pay for their survival. If we were to do that anywhere else we would probably end up in jail. Jail in other countries is not as good as jail here. I can't understand why we can't send them back or at least close the border. We do not need them here to do the jobs we don't want to do. There are plenty of poor in our country and they can perform these jobs. Do we really need millions of Mexicans to migrate here each year to pick our crops and clean our houses? I think that is way out of proportion to what we pay out to keep them here. It would be cheaper to pay crop pickers a little more and keep the Mexicans in Mexico.

metro...ever stop to think why it is not "easy" to immigrate here? There are reasons and no...I will not do your homework for you again. Get your lazy butt in gear and do your own work...if that is possible. See ya!
refugiontrans: Allow me to refresh your memory on history. It would serve you well to understand the treaty if you wish to speak about it. Here is your history lesson for today:
Article 8 guaranteed that Mexicans who remained more than one year in the ceded lands would automatically become full-fledged American citizens (or they could declare their intention of remaining Mexican citizens); however, this Article was effectively weakened by Article 9, written into the treaty by the U.S. Senate, which stated that Mexican citizens would "be admitted at the proper time (to be judged of by the Congress of the United States).
Any questions?

It is because they are liberal idiots. These are the same people willing to fund socialist programs with your money. The Ted Kennedys and the Michael Moores . These people bad mouth the U.S. on a daily basis and should be deported with the illegals. BUILD A FENCE! BRING OUR MEN AND WOMEN HOME AND HAVE THEM GUARD OUR FENCE! DO NOT HANDCUFF OUR BORDER PATROL! LET THEM DEFEND THEMSELVES!

They don't. They think it's OK for certain sorts of people (people who are the same color they are, or have the same politics, or, on the other extreme, people whom they can ruthlessly exploit for monetary gain) to enter the USA illegally, and they'll use open-borders rhetoric to defend that position. They don't really believe it, it's just a convenient argument.

there is not any such element as "professional unlawful immigration protestors." that is incorrect for every person to initiate riots. maximum individuals of protestors against the immigration regulation of AZ are non violent, and have not dedicated any violence or vandalism. lots of the protests have been non violent. lots better than 200 have protested; that one rampage advance into no longer the only protest.

it is because the United States is weak when it comes to defending their border. The powers that be ..let cheap labor in..to pick the crops. and all the cheap labor..you can't have it both ways...either let them in to do the work..or keep them out and pay our workers more...

Pro-illegal politicians are pandering for votes.
Pro-illegal citizens have "liberal guilt". They feel bad that America is so successful and Mexico isn't. And they feel bad that we once "had war" with the poor Mexicans. So they are compensating by letting illegals screw America, thus making us all even. It's only fair. And we all know that life is fair.

They're "voting with their feet".
People represent wealth. People work and create wealth for themselves and society in general.
Government (ours) has created a system that made immigrants into financial liabilities through welfare handouts.
I have no problem with immigrants who come here with a support framework and a plan. i.e., they pay their own way and contribute to society.
I have issues with those who want to bring their loyalty to Mexico here and rub our noses in it by waving Mexican flags. If Mexico is so great, what are they doing here?
If they want to start a country called "Aztlan", let them start it in Mexico.
