Normally, I receive it by thoughts. And these thoughts are by scripture. I have heard a voice a couple of times, which sounds human, not really loud and booming as some would think.

For me it can happen in different ways. It could clearly be Gods voice which is undescribeable or it could sometimes come in a literal sign. For example I was going through some really rough times and had no peace and one day I was feeling particularly low and I went to the beach as soon as I got there I saw some writing in the sand and it said "Jesus is peace to your soul" Obviously a person put it there but God can and does direct people to do this stuff for the sake of others. Anyway those are my experiences. Those who do not hear Him is because they do not want to or because they do it in a sarcastic "lets test God" manner. Hope this answers your Question. God Bless

Peaceful brook, birds chirping, calling; calm and quiet around, maybe deer or rabbits nearby. It is more than a sound, it is a sensation, a large feeling that stimulates and calms the senses at once. When I thought about the question, I could see sunlight coming through the trees in a small forest. Bubbling, clean water flowing over rocks winding and twisting; nature at its purest.
When we go camping and I am able to sit alone surrounded by nature; I feel peace. I think this was how we were intended to live.

I have never heard a voice but, I did feel God's answer inside my heart, if you will. Last night, I prayed and I lay in bed when I pray and had my eyes closed. And I asked Him a personal question that has been bothering for a while and I saw the word yes lit up in the darkness of my closed eyes. It was very strange because I don't usually get answers that fast and that noticable, ever! I almost thought I was seeing things but, I see the question I asked and His answer and the results are true!!!

I know I have heard "be still and know that I am God." I think I have heard of people saying a still small voice. I know that people who use a still small voice 1 they are not heard above the noise 2 they are called wimps and 3 they are laughed at. A loud thunderous roar or a voice like a gentle rain or, HE IS GOD and HE can SOUND HOWEVER HE LIKES. Whatever it takes to get the job done.

That's a really thought provoking question, I never really thought about how God may sound. The only sound resounding from almighty God would be the sound of His heartbeat. That's all we need.

Whenever I hear the thunder I think of God's majestic voice!
2 Samuel 22:14
The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
Job 37:4
After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back.
Job 37:5
God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.
Job 40:9
Do you have an arm like God's, and can your voice thunder like his?

God emits a steady multi-vibrational tone that has high, medium and low drones all in one, He can imitate any sound or language and His voice sounds a little robotic or electrified.
