Read the quote first. What do you think about it?

"Wish not for death any of you; neither the doer of good works, for peradventure he may increase them by an increase of life; nor the offender, for perhaps he may obtain the forgiveness of God by repentance. Wish not, nor supplicate for death before its time cometh; for verily when ye die, hope is out and the ambition for reward: and verily, the increase of a Mumins' (Muslim's) life increaseth his good works."

It is a profound quote and one we should reflect on, thanks for sharing :)

Red dragon, I didn't know those stories and thanks for sharing them :) Everyone says 'be careful what you wish for' thinking you may just get it even though you may not want what you wished for in a moment of madness. So maybe this came from the Islamic stories afterall :)

Peace.

May be I would wish die when I am sure I will get the best place after death

But today, I still have many sins that I'm not sure I have been forgiven and I haven't done anything to get the best place after death.

The quote is interesting... but it's central idea is that we should not take life from the living. Those who I want to die are already dead.
They are dead.. but they walk still, and pretend that they have some sort of life. They rob others of their successes, values, and dignity. They have lost their identity and their soul to others like them and now they strive to bring us with them. They deserve to die. They are wasting space.. so either they die, or wake up.
I will not forgive the dead, only the living. If they are dead and beg to be forgiven for sucking the life from the living I will damn them. Do not ask to be forgiven for something you continue to do, and do not intend to stop doing.
Anyways, this is my belief. Think of me what you will.

Never wish death for anyone and never curse anyone as well. This includes animals as well.

In the time of Muhammad (PBUH), there was this astray camel that was always very noise and disobedient. All Muslims used to curse the camel, until one day PBUH came to his people & said: Kill the poor animal, as it is now cursed. Cursing is not allowed in Islam, and also wishing death for anyone. Allah believes in "Al Tawbah" from anyone of his slaves, Muslims & non-Mulsims.

Another story, there was a woman who was always cursing her children who were very naughty, although she was not meaning what she was saying, but whenever they were yeslling and shouting and not listening to her, she used to say: Allah may take you away (meaning death) so I can get rid of you. She never meant it. But one day, when she wished death for her children, Allah listened to her rayers & gave her what she wished for, all of them (I guess they were two or three) dropped dead at once. That's why it is not allowed to wish death or curse anyone in Islam, because Allah might give you what you wished for, even if you did not mean it.

I don't wish death for anyone, although I can say that maybe once or twice I secretly imagined Bush exploding.
