He's a silver/blue tabby and i'm looking for an original name for him - but nothing too long winded or pretentious (i need to be able to call him in public!). All suggestions welcome!

Observe the cats behavior over a few days or weeks then give it a name that reflects it's personality.
I simply named my cat "Cat" cause cats do not generally come when called by name but tend to respond more to noises such as "tsk tsk tsk" or "kitty- kitty- kitty" or the crack and peel sound of a can of cat food being opened, which my cat can hear a mile away, LOL!

I had one nearly like that. We called him little Tyke. Of course he got big so the name was ironic. Almost called him "Starvin' Marvin" because he ate so much. Maybe a silly diminutive name. Tinkerbell, Tiny or Little Bit.
Later we called him "Fluffy Butt" because of his furry pantaloons.
Maine Coons are awsome.

Name him something really cute. Like Tommy, Blake, Jake, Antonio, Cameron, Chase, Diego, Dominic, Evan, Gavin, Liam, and Parker. Hope you find a cool name! =]

I have two Maine Coon brothers...Maximillian (Max) and Rum Tum Tugger (Tugger). Congratulations on your new Maine Coon. Wouldn't have any other breed.
