Psalms 93 for example in the French Bible will be Psalms 93(92). Why is this? does anyone know? or know where I could find out? and it only starts at Psalm 9 or something, before that the numbers are the same as the English Bible.

The French bible is probably a translation
of the Douay(Catholic) version of the bible.
In the Douay version there are only 149 psalms
rather than 150, so the numbers will be off by 1.
To check this, see if the Apocrypha is included
in your French bible. The Apocrypha
has such books as Judith and Maccabees 1 and 2
which are not in the King James bible.
