Why are the extremists ignoring the commands of the Quran and the Sunnah?

Here is one example:

"The greatest crimes are to associate another with God, to vex your father and mother, to murder your own species, to commit suicide, and to swear to lie."

Why won't they listen? And why are the leaders of the extremists telling them not to study Islam? Is it because then those who are would be extremists would know that their actions are against Islam, and are hurting all of the muslims of the world, not to mention the victims?

Islam has laid great stress on two things. Education and reading the Quran with understanding.

Because u c, the purpose of education is to liberate the human mind. N the liberated human mind can understand Quran much much much better.

When the human mind is not liberated, it is easily fooled. No wonder Allah laid great stress on education too. N by education, I mean the relgious as well as the worldly education.

In my opinion, the main reason for having these extermists is that they do not read the Holy Book carefully. They take things to extremes, although PBUH said: The best way is the middle (which means always be moderate & not extreme). For example, when Islam talks about jihad and to fight the non-believers, this only means that you have to fight them when in a war, that's when you are being attacked. That does not mean to go to a non-muslim city and blow up a hotel or a car! In the times of Muhammad (PBUH), the area was full of non-Muslims (there were Christians, Jews, Idol worshippers, fire worshippers ... etc). Did he fight them all? No, he only fought those who opposed him and declared war. Allah says in his Holy Book:

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

[109:1] Say, "O you disbelievers.
[109:2] "I do not worship what you worship.
[109:3] "Nor do you worship what I worship.
[109:4] "Nor will I ever worship what you worship.
[109:5] "Nor will you ever worship what I worship.
[109:6] "To you is your religion, and to me is my religion."

This means that you should try to reason with non-muslims about Islam and give them info, if they do not listen then leave them alone, not kill them. I believe those extremists do not read the Quraan carefully and they are full of anger. Which, anger, is also forbidden!!!

They are under the control of "deceivers" who disguise a quest for power and control as "religion". Just like when the deceivers here take the Bible out of context and convince a number of people to kill abortion doctors and blow up Planned Parenthood.

This is NOT the true religion of God. It is a trick to use religion to lead a large (probably a majority) of people astray.

To them they are not doing anything wrong. They "think" that what they are doing is ok by Allah, but even they know in their hearts that what they are doing doesn't make any sense.
