Hi. I'm 14 and for a little while I have been having this weird feeling in the area around my heart. It just feels like my heart is heavy and sort of sinking. It doesn't really hurt and I'm 14 so I don't think it's a heart attack. Also, it seems to feel funny to breathe real deeply and it worsens and night I think. Does anyone know if this is a sign of a heart disease or murmer or anything? Thanks in advance.

I would get it checked out. If you are going to ask R&S people for medical advice, make sure you prepare yourself.

In addition to some of the answers above you may also have a hiatal hernia. That is a small place in your upper stomach that pouches out and food can get trapped in there and cause all the feelings you mentioned. Especially if you lay down within a few hours after eating. It is quite a common ailment. However, you need to mention this to your parents and consult with a physician to rule out other more serious medical conditions. Good luck.

Dont worry hun. I have the exact same feeling everytime I worry which is a lot. Talk to a friend about it or if your stronger than me tell your parents. I'll be 16 july 3 and I've had stress since I was in 5th grade. Just learn to not worry too much because worrying makes it worse. I have had panic attacks, but as long as you slow down and enjoy life and your adolescence you'll be fine!
P.S. feel free to email me at sprtygal1on1@yahoo.com if you have any questions about it. I promise to tell you all I know. Good Luck and take care.

Tell your parents - and all of you go to doctor and learn about you. Ask doctor all questions about YOU. Being 14 - you must have questions - ask a doctor is best. Next is your parents. LAst would be the girl in the locker room with the older sister that knew a guy that knew something... that's too scary to continue - anyway I again ask you to only get medical data from a doctor or nurse.
LASTLY DON'T TALK or LOOK AT BOYS TILL YOUR 40!!! LOL!

Don't assume because your young you can't have heart trouble. Babies die of it or have operations.
Even doctors make mistakes, but you should see one. Best go through emergency room and explain your problem.
If you can, write down the symptoms before going. Be as precise as you can. It counts. Good luck.
P/S don't let them give you the shot in the belly. Its a blood thinner and just a money maker.

You could have Mitrial Valve Prolapse. It is mostly not life threatening. But can lead to panic attacks and anxiety. You should get a check-up, and ask for a echo-cardigram.

I have the same problems. Seems to come and go, I think it's just me stressing out due to finals and all. Could also be that cold medicine I take.

Just because your 14 doesn't mean that there couldn't be something wrong.. you should tell your parents so you can have a check up.. just to make sure..
