Rex is the latin word for king.

Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews.

According to the Gospels that was written in Latin, Greek and Hebrew. There is a difference between Hebrew and Aramaic. It was NOT written in Aramaic.

In many churches you will see the abbreviation
INRI - which is the first letter of each word in Latin.

Rex is the Latin word for "king". You can certainly find the meaning on Google.

The words "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" was written on His cross, if I remember correctly, in Latin, Greek and Hebrew.

Rex is Latin for king. The Bible actually says they wrote "Jesus, King of the Jews." It would most likely have been in Aramaic. One of the Gospels says they wrote it in Hebrew and Greek or Aramaic.

Rex means king.

What you saw was possibly part of the phrase "King of the Jews".

What is traditionally quoted as being above his head is "INRI" which is an abbreviation for Latin words for "Jesus Christ, King of the Jews".

REX?!?!? Google has REX! It is Latin (King) as in TRex (Tyrant Lizard King).
I always thought it was INRI on his cross?!?!?
That is King of the Jews - not just King...

I took Latin for 6 years, we learned that it was actually meant to mock Jesus. It means Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews. There is supposed to be four letters- I can't remember what they are right now. (The crown of thorns was also a mockery.)

I would assume King. The Bible says that a sign was put on the cross saying "King of the Jews". The pharisees wanted it changed to say "he says he's king of the Jews" but Pilate refused to change it.
