How about the cost of owning a dog? You can break down the cost of purchasing a dog (or adopting) shots for a year, heart worm preventative, flea and tick preventative, grooming (either yourself or professional), emergency visit, food, treats, toys, training, etc.

These are things people take for granted, so if you put it right out there for them, you will make them think. Even if you do the old how much does that "FREE PUPPY" cost, you will definitely get some attention! Good luck!

I'm a little confused about if you're suppose to be making an informative poster, or just a poster. At first I was thinking you could do something with spay/neuter, but that might be a popular one. You could do something about how exercise is extremely important in an animals life and how even though we love our pets, affection should come last. Hope that helps.

What about a spay and neuter poster. Let people know the benefits of fixing their dogs or you can do a poster on the importance of training and socializing dogs.

"If you can't Vet Em don't Get Em!" You can state something about good care of animals, meaning they need vet care. If someone does not have the money to go to the vet, then they should not get a dog.

What about sharing information on dog testing or pound seizures? They are very important for people to know about.

Why don't you do something that educates people about issues like adopting from a shelter or spaying/ neutering?
