When a parrot sees you sleeping they're usually quite comfortable with this & see this as a calm thing.
Maybe she want's your attention & for you to see what she's upto. Does she have some interacting toys & things to do? Toddler interactive toys are excellent & can keep them occupied for hours.
She may also find it amusing to go to you when ever she sees your eyes shut & wake you up again. What do you do when she does this?

Make sure that at night you put a dark colored blanket(dark blue to match the night time sky is best but black is okay) And your grey will think i'ts still night as long as you keep the cover over the cage. When you have gotten in your sleep, remove the blanket and then he will start yapping. If that doesn't work(this rarley happens) just pretend you didn't hear the sound. You Grey maybe chirps to see your reation so dont react.

Hi - your bird should never be unsupervised out of her cage - it is deadly dangerous to allow this. There are more dangerous things in ANY room, to mention, for a parrot.
If you are going to nap, put her into her safe cage and cover her until you get up.
Please, please do this. As smart and curious as these wonderful parrots are, you can read how many were killed by such ordinary things as a light socket or electric cord.
It may seem cute and funny - but it is deadly serious. Subscribe to BirdTalk and learn more that will help her and YOU. Best of luck.

African Grey's want attention 24/7. You may want to get her use to being put up when you sleep. They are very smart breeds and will get away with as much as they can. Take care...Sweet dreams, hopefully;^)

I read somewhere that if you want your new bird to bond with you fall asleep near their cage and they then take on the role of protector. I did it with our White Eyed Conure shortly after we rehomed him and maybe it is a coincident but I am the one he is most bonded with.
