I have always used the fact that animals and humans share almost identical bodies to prove the existance of evolution. From the genetic code to most of the chemicals in the body, to the cells and their function; to the organ structures and their function are identical, certainly in mammals and even in other types of animals. So if God did create the world as in Genesis then it used the same template with slight variations for the different types of animals.

To me the word "God" is a different way of saying "Evolution".
To me God did not creat us, people created God.

We have seen evolution in our lifetime, or at least I have in mine. Bacteria and viruses are doing it right now. They are reacting to their changing environment and adapting to survive. Becoming resistive to every drug currently on the market. This is what every creature on the planet has done when something changed in their environments and why we have so many different types of the same animal. Look at ants and all the different varieties all suited to their environment. I just can't believe that they were created with all that variety. Not when we can see the effects of evolution right now. From the very first single celled organisms to humans, changing environments have necessitated change in structure and function to survive. As a child I went to a Christian school that taught creation and blasted evolution. I have opened my eyes since then and stopped believing in the fairy tale. The only destiny for the human race is the one we create. Hopefully we are learning from our mistakes and leaving a better world for our kids.

When God designed human beings he began with the same template that was common in other animals. We all use DNA. We have two eyes, ears, lungs... our blood uses hemoglobin, etc.. But humans are unique too, and science is just beginning to understand exactly how unique we are...

The human and chimpanzee genomes vary by just 1.2 percent, yet there is a considerable difference in the mental and linguistic capabilities between the two species. A new study showed that a certain form of neuropsin, a protein that plays a role in learning and memory, is expressed only in the central nervous systems of humans and that it originated less than 5 million years ago. Some unique proteins are also associated with consciousness and planning for our future. Pretty unique animal the human.

HE created people with souls and spirit. HE created us in HIS own image. That goes for you too.

Every living thing came from the dust and every living thing will die and return to the dust. Common chemical makeup.

Cats have their organs in all the exact same places as people.

Trying to prove evolution? Better minds than yours have tried and failed because evolution is the product of human imagination. It is only an excuse for people to not have to be accountable to HIM.

Why are you wasting your life on such a useless pursuit?

Here is a challenge for you. Research the chemical makeup of dirt and soil. See how close the chemical makeup matches that of people.

How can that be? Because HE made us from the dust.

I hope this helps to enlighten you as to the truth.

If you were to compare the paintings of Monet, you would find many similar characteristics in every one of Monet's paintings, even though the subject matter often differs dramatically. The same would be true if you were to compare Picasso paintings, or the paintings of other artists. This is because each artist has his own peculiar set of fingerprints.

A thousand watches made by a thousand different watchmakers would share similarities. In fact, a thousand DIFFERENT types of appliances would also share similarities. Does this prove these items "evolved", or is this because the similarities are necessary in order for these things to function properly?

Do similarities in different species prove evolution, or do they prove God, in His wisdom, made them that way, because this was the most effective way to create them?

There is simply no need to believe the literal truth of a creation in six days. It works perfectly fine as an alegory for evolution at the time it was written. Not using the brain God gave you doesn't make you a better person.

Yeah you could put it like that I suppose. I mean, I think that G-d created us so that we'd be curious. And thus I think that he created everything similar so that we could relatively easily expand our knowledge. (This is just a conjecture of my own, I may be completely off base).

Also, the variations in the genetic codes aren't as "slight" as they are portrayed. Lets say theoretically that we could take away the genetic differences between Chimps and Humans. Alright? They would not look like each other even when they have those parts that are different removed.

Is that a question or an answer?
God spoke the animals into existence. But he formed man from the dust of the earth, and then breathed life into him. He fashioned woman from a bone. (would that be called cloning?)

I pretty much agree with your idea that the similarity in body structures and DNA between many different species is strong evidence in favor of evolution.

Okay...

Frankly you cant prove anything, you can use that to support your beliefs, but you cant prove it. If you had we wouldn't be having this debate.

Frankly I believe God created a universe that was able to evolve into what it is today and will be in the future.
