you could inquire about a medication called Baclofen.
It is a muscle relaxant that is used for MS and spinal conditions.
It does not make you as drowsy as some of the others but as with all medications your actual mileage may vary.

Try skelaxin it is non-sedating. Flexaril, Zanaflex and Soma all have the potential to make you drowsy. You can take the Skelaxin up to 4 times daily. Good luck

Yes, definetly ask your doctor about Skelaxin.
My mom used to take Flexeril and it made her extremely drowsy.
Now, my mom takes Skelaxin and she is able to stay awake and be muscle pain-free and happily perform her daily tasks at work and play with her dog at home.

In some cases an anti-inflammatory will work better than muscle relaxers. If you can take it, try taking 800 mg of Ibuprofen. There are other ways to relax your muscles without taking medications, like using a heating pad, take a bath or shower in water as hot as you can stand it.

I take flexeril, but it also makes me really tired. I usually just break up the pills and take a quarter or half at a time if i'm going to work. That way it makes the pain more manageable, but I can still function.

Ask your doctor about Skelaxin. I use this muscle relaxer for my fibromyalgia and I like it because it doesn't make me sleepy.

Soma works well for me. It makes me dizzy for about 20 minutes and than it wears and I have no after effects pain free!
