Buy a product called Thum, it's this nasty tasting clear polish that you put on your nails.

I bit my nails for a long time. My nails and hands were so ugly that my grandmother offered to buy me a diamond ring as soon as I let them grow but that wasn't even incentive enough. I tried Stop Bite and bitter apple but nothing worked. The only thing that worked for me was mind over matter. When I got my nails to grow a little bit I would treat my cuticles and polish them with a light color. I saved the bolder colors for when they got longer. It took many attempts but eventually seeing how pretty and feminine my hands began to look was incentive for me. When I saw someone with beautiful nails it reminded me that that's what I wanted. Now I have beautiful, strong, long natural nails that get compliments all the time. My daughter is now the serious nail bitter. My nails have been an incentive for her and she just recently made several attempts to try to grow her nails. Each time she lets them grow a little longer and gets excited when she sees how pretty her hands are starting to look. Keep trying -- you will succeed. Good Luckl!

This is a hard question because once you let stress cause such a habit it is as hard to break as it is to stop smoking. Ask your doctor for the stuff you paint on your nails that tastes nasty if you bite them and for something for anxiety. You may not need an anti-depressant, but an anti-anxiety will help you immensely.

Nail Biting was my problem before. You can't stop it immediately. But what you can do is much on a carrot stick whenever you feel the urge to do so. our keep a candy in your bag and eat it whenever you're outside and have the urge to bite. Another crazy but effective way is to kiss...kiss...kiss! =)

A friend of my parents once saw me biting my nails, which was such a habit for me. She told me of the harmful bacterias lurking underneath the nail which can make u sick. You know that our hands contains millions of germs. So...yea.. that was one of the things that helped me get over that. Hope this helps!!

Slap your hand every time you want to bite them. Or you can buy that special finger nail polish.

Apply hand lotion throughout the day so you'll taste it whenever you start to bite your nails.
