It hurts because the arch wire is tightening all of your teeth at once, so they will be closer to the "ideal" arch. Fortunately, the discomfort doesn't last long, and it is well worth it when you later have a beautiful smile.

Ask the dentist (because he needs to straighten your teeth more) - did you not know this the first 3 days you had them on. here is one bend your finger in the opposite direction should it go that way? if not think about the original position of your teeth and now we will force them in another direction do you think it will cause pain?

Because they tighten all the wires & it pulls your teeth even more.

They tighten it and your teeth move more in whichever direction they need to.
