Texas uses the Federal minimum wage rate for minimum wages. Currently, that is $5.15 per hour. However, the Federal minimum wage rate will increase to $5.85 per hour on July 24, 2007. It will increase to $6.55 per hour on July 24, 2008 and increase to $7.25 per hour on July 24, 2009.

By State law, Texas follows the Federal Minimum Wage. Currently the Federal Minimum Wage is $5.15 so Texas is the same.

The Federal Minimum Wage increase was signed into law on May 25th, 2007. Effective July 24th, 2007 it will increase to $5.85. Then on July 24th of 2008 and 2009 it will increase again to $6.55 and $7.25 respectively.
