Hey,
I wouldn't bathe the dog more than once a month. What you do need to do is brush the dog to get rid of dead hair and dander. I brush my Stella girl, once evry other day with something called the furminator. I swear this thing is incredible. It takes away all the dead hair (It's probably whats making your doggie stinky because that extra dead hair traps moisture, which causes stinky bacteria)
Also, have you though about getting a doggie raincoat? it might help as well.
Here's the link for the furminator

I have two dogs, a sheltie and a mixed breed. The Sheltie needs to be bathed every 4 to 6 weeks or she gets a doggie odor. The mixed breed has only had two baths her entire 6 years of life. She just does not smell like a dog! You can bury your nose into her fur and no odor....its pretty amazing. It must be the breeds she a mix of. Anyway, even if you are using products handmade by your therapist, it could have an adverse effect on the dog and actually cause the dog to smell worse if you use something that irritates its skin. Brushing the dog thoroughly every day and using a grooming spray that can be found in a good pet store will also help with the doggie odor. There are also spray on products that are okay to use on a dog that take away odor. Dirty or infected ears can cause a dog to smell bad, as well as impacted anal glands.

I had someone that works at Petco tell me once every few weeks is the best because their skin gets dry. You might want to consider grooming your cocker. My family had a cocker when I was younger we choose not to conform to the standard cocker cut all the time. It's too hot for the dogs, hard to maintain, and stinky. We cut her hair short most of the year, and she was an indoor/outdoor dog. She was never stinky.

They have natural oils in their skin that keep them from getting so dried out. Try to brush your dog at least every other day if not every day.
I wouldn't bathe her more than once a month though.Maybe think about getting her a puppy (short) cut, especially during the summer and rainy season

Don't bathe your dog... Get her to a good groomer and keep her clipped, so she can't get urine/feces on her fur.
Then you won't have a stinky dog.
Dogs should not be bathed unless it is absolutely necessary. It messes up their natural oils, and can cause all kinds of skin problems afterward. If you have to rinse, just use plain water to rinse and get mud off.
If it is urine/feces... Please make sure the dog is groomed appropriately so it doesn't get in the fur.

That is true! Dogs need to be brushed several times a day. That will get off the dead skin which is what is stinking. Buy a mini vac to clean the hairs. Brush your dog 3-4 tims a day.

Try bathing her like once every two weeks or whenever she needs it. Long haired dogs usually need a bath once a week. Short haired usually about once a month.
