We have lived right next door to eachother since i was 12 and he was 13. everyone knows that we are childhood sweetharts so I wanted to do something really clever to express are "fairytale" if you will. Any cute ideas?

please tell me you aren't getting married at age 16! Ok, assuming you are older, how about a cake that looks like a sandcastle?

I imagine that you went to high school together, incorporate some memorablia from then in to it. Look in to getting a tape of the school fight song to play at the reception.

Design your invitations to look like something from the 'Classmates.com' ads with your 'younger' school pictures and the words "Do you know this couple?" and on the inside put the invitation wording.

For either an engagement party, shower or the wedding itself:
Take photos of yourselves from the time you met through the current time, both separately and together, scan them to a computer and print them out various sizes (smallish). Cut them out and glue them to some sort of wooden or plastic 'stake'. Put plants in to colorful pots, add 4-5 of the picture stakes that will cover the time span in to it at different heights. Instant centerpieces! You not only have a cute way to display your time together, but they will be a great way to start people mingling - by going from table to table looking at the different pictures. (This can also be achieved with silk flowers, foam and moss.)

Good Luck

you could make a slide show/movie thing on power point or windows movie maker. You could show pictures from your childhood of both of you seperately and together, and pictures from you both dating. You could also look online for pictures of really famous cartoon couples like Mickey and Minnie, Belle and the Beast, and at the end have Cinderella and The Prince, then a pic of their castle, and the last slide could say "And they lived happily ever after... The Beginning". It really plays off of the whole fairytale idea :) Hope you have a great wedding!

Why don't you play off the fact that you lived next door to each other? Use houses, windows, show pictures of you growing up together.

Every romance could be a fairytale but not every one can be since they were 12!

You could work on a "Jack & Jill" concept.

Be sure that the shower includes men, too, and you'll get the theme started even before your guests get to the wedding.

Use metal "pails" as decorations at the tables. If you can work it out, have the ceremony in a place that has a (small) hill. You could even rent a "wishing well" to display at the ceremony or reception (try to avoid having this look like a ploy for money, though).

I saw somewhere that I couple who yet in grade school had their wedding set up like a school. Example: they took their wedding party shot with that bulletin board that are in class photos with your grade and teacher's name.

Another thing you could do is get married outside and under a tree with a swing by it. You can have many flowers and make it like the wedding in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves at the end (the one outside!), but also have that childhood feel.

My husband and I got married on Halloween, we had a halloween style cake, pumpkins, horror decorations, I got married in red, my husband wore a black and gold frock coat and all the guests wore gorgeous gothic clothing.

That was the theme we chose- so perhaps come up with a theme?

The romantic thing we did- which you might like to do, was the first dance, and we had a bubble machine going and it was so gorgeous and the photographs looked sensational with bubbles in them!

I think your story is adorable by the way :)

You should make your invitations as a kind of open and shut card with a black and white photo of both of you as kids on the front. You can have the card tie shut with a pretty ribbon to help make it elegant for a wedding.

Make your own wedding invitations look like a story book and include a short story about how you met and fell in love. Makes a personal touch.

what are some goofy or silly pranks and stunts that you two did as kids? invite crashers to your party and have them incorporate those things into the wedding. kind of like your version of "the real wedding crashers", lol.
