The regrets section is an odd addition to the invitations. Usually a regrets line is added for those who can not attend the event. I'm not sure why it would be on an invite for an engagement party, though, because there is no card to send back. I'm stumped as well.

Regrets is left for people to let you know they can't come. Either a phone number or e-mail address should be placed here for people to contact you. It is kind of the opposite of an RSVP. If they don't contact you with regrets, it is kind of assumed they are coming and don't have to RSVP. An alternative to the regret would be an RSVP, which means they contact you if they are coming.

I think it means you put the number of people that won't be able to make it. Example you invite a family of four but only one can come so it would be 3 regrets.

Regrets means: People who will be UNABLE to attend. Normally when this line appears there should not be a reason for RSVP. In other words you should expect them all to show up if they do not send their "REGRET".
Good Luck and Congratulations.

It means that people aren't required to RSVP if they ARE going but instead should RSVP if they are NOT going to attend your engagement party. Put a phone number or email address there and people can let you know that they can't go.

Pretty sure it means if you can't come since that is the only way I would see you needing regrets.
The person should have worded it better.

This is where you would put in the phone number for whomever is in charge of knowing who is coming. It's not a request for everyone to RSVP, just those who cannot attend. This is based on the assumption that they wish to go, but "regretfully" cannot make it. Those who can come do not need to reply...just those who can't.

That is where the invited person states they can not make it to the party.

YOu write down all the things you wish you had done instead of getting engaged...all the other guys you shoulda bonked....he he. Nah, seriously, it is so the people can send it back regretfully if they cannot attend.
You can put a phone no. or return address there so they let you know if they cant come. Good luck
