Claudia-the 'egg' doesn't 'split'. Dogs ovulate in multim. They have more than one ova produced per cycle. This is why one female can have a litter with as many different fathers as there are ova to be fertilized. Most smaller breeds have 2-5 puppies. My question is why do you want to breed mixes when so many are available for adoption?
