I know there was a similar question to this, but i wanted to check something and it is a bit different.

As far as i am concerned, Good and Evil are man made terms. For something to be considered as good or evil, it has to be either for, or against someone's morals.

Now, what i don't understand is, people claim that certain things are evil. What if the fact of it is, there is no good or evil, the 2 things were only created in the first place, because someone far back along the time line decided he wanted things done by his own personal set of morals.

A view on this is the assassin. A person stolen from birth and trained as a killer, he is taught it is right to kill, does this make him evil? No i say because his morals state he is in the right.

Has any one else got any views on this?

Andrew, a quick thing from your answer. If it was so created by Satan, what of Adam rejecting his original wife? The original thing was that Eve was the 3rd attempt. The 1st or second went wrong, the other one was correct, but he rejected her because of what he saw. Now, that is what you would call greed, wanting more than you have, is it not? Were was satan there?

God gave people free will,so in Isaiah 45:7 it says God created evil,he had to do this for us to have free will,we have to have good and bad to chose from, that`s how I take it,sorry if it offends!

Lets expand on your assassin thought. The assassin can no more be considered evil than a trained dog who only knows the commands of his master. But now if he becomes social and more aware of general acceptable social values, then where does this put him in the scheme of good and evil. Not to mention those who might have trained him, are they good or bad?
Good and bad, grace and evil, there are always two poles to choose from. In your own heart you know what is right and what is wrong for you. This may not be the same for someone else. Different rules, different culture, but with some adaptation still the same.
As good and evil is an analog concept, to experience either at its purest is rare. But there is great evil as there is great good, however you wish to describe or analyze them.
Man on the other hand, misuses the term 'evil' for whatever he chooses to dislike. As he uses the term 'love' in such a loose manner that it has lost its meaning.
I could spue on but I'll spair you this time.

Aho,

He could very well feel correct in doing these Killing but that still doesn't mean he's right. If you are to believe this then Timothy McVeigh that blew up the federal building was on the right side. Or the Special 19 on 911.

Great point! -- from what i can gather from reading the bible that someone was a little selfish and if you didn't obey then to hell you went!
I don't know if that is 100% correct but i typed in respect, honor, and obey and got a lot of serches or passages from some bible searching site!

i agree with you on this. really there is no good and evil its all what the individual considers good or evil. did the nazis think they were doing evil? no they thought they were purging a nuisance from the world. i say it was a disgusting act because society and my morals say so.
