There are 16 ounces in a pound and 28 grams per ounce. So 1 x 16 x 28 = 448 grams of fat in a pound.

One pound is about 453 grams. (One ounce is a little more than 28 grams, and there are 16 ounces in a pound.)

But what I think you're asking is more like how many grams of fat equal up to a pound, which is slightly different. To gain (or lose) a pound of fat, you need 3500 extra (or fewer) calories. One fat gram contains 9 calories of energy, so 3500 divided by 9 is about 389 grams of fat.

It is around 450 grams/pound. It's not a dumb question at all. If you eat 450 grams of fat, you will not gain a pound because your body will usually digest some of it, but try ingesting as little fat as possible.
