The people of the U.S. are the least healthy that they have ever been...obesity is a major problem, and a drain on our medical care and expenses...most eat fast food on a regular basis and do not exercise.
So, aren't obese people, pushing their "sin" of gluttony to the forefront? Why don't the fundamentalists strike out at gluttons as much as homosexuals...
Homosexuals are only 10% of the population...but a good 60% of the population is obese...I want to hear some good ol fire and brimstone sermons about the fat.
Of course the fundies say one can turn from their sin and find salvation...However, with all of the obese people out there...most are not turning from their sin...look at Jerry Falwell...he died fat..so, never turned from sin...
And please don't tell me people are born with a fat gene...if people are not born gay, they are not born fat...can't have it both ways folks.

I get what you are trying to say, and I agree, but being fat is different from being gay. Lots of people have a psychological addiction to food and that's why they are obese; you really can't say the same for homosexuals.

Clearly, there is a misunderstanding of the word Gluttony.
Glutton
(Deut. 21:20), Heb. zolel, from a word meaning "to shake out," "to squander;" and hence one who is prodigal, who wastes his means by indulgence. In Prov. 23:21, the word means debauchees or wasters of their own body. In Prov. 28:7, the word (pl.) is rendered Authorized Version "riotous men;" Revised Version, "gluttonous." Matt. 11:19, Luke 7:34, Greek phagos, given to eating, gluttonous.
An obese person is not necessarily a glutton. A person born with fat or a gene which causes obesity is not a glutton.
And before you start about being born gay, there is NO scientific proof of a "gay" gene. Not a shred of evidence or proof.
Obesity on the other hand is a genetic problem in some cases but is not always glutton.
You are comparing apples and oranges to try to support the idea that "fundies" are only out to attack homosexuals. That is not the case. The Bible hates ALL sin. But all sins can be forgiven, including homosexuality, if you repent and turn away from your sin.
Obesity does not equal gluttony in all cases.
Homosexuality IS unnatural in all cases.

The fundamentalists get excitement from their bake sales, yet they could't save their head off of what 2 people of a similar intercourse could do of their mattress room. each now and then I swear this is a sexual obsession on their section, rewritten in some unusual religious way. People can be born with a malfunctioning pituitary glands. I'm not saying this is always the case, but sometimes. I am much more offended by open and obvious homosexuality than by obese people.

Not all homo`s are "Fit". there are some obese homos out there .Obese people don`t have unnatural sex with body parts that are exits ,not entrances .Some obese people are not that way from over eating . Obese people don`t fondle our children /unless they`re gay .Don`t give me the crap that pedophiles are straight .As far as I am concerned if you touch a like gender person in a sexual way ,you are gay ........Child or adult.

Anyway, i dont think gluttony as a sin is as contested as homsexuality as a sin.
Also, i am extremely skeptical of your 10% population figure....

last time i checked obese people dont' have parades and dance around half nekid and have sex in public places and demand special days at formerly family oriented theme parks like disneyland or have a special flag that has to fly around certain parts of cities where obese people congregate...should i go on? i don't see obese people clamoring for the government to create laws to justify their obeseity...should i go on?

Yes it is a problem in this country ...some people do have a medical problem that keeps them fat . But in general this country is lazy , spoiled , and ignore the problem .
