I think that this a natural thing that I call "post lunch slump"! I doubt that it has that much to do with what you eat, and a post non-lunch slump would obviously be much worse!
Think about it. Pre school children take a nap a while after lunch. Yes, we are all grown up now but we only have to look to countries like Spain to see how natural it can be to have a "siesta", maybe they are doing what we all should.
I know, it's no answer! I suffer too. All I can think of is fighting it with coffee or red bull. We are fighting a very powerful force (nature) after all! When it comes to coffee, obviously fresh is stronger than instant, and the strongest I know is "hot Lava Java" if you have the amenities to brew your own! Suerte.

Well we can all get a bit of post lunch lethargy. As I understand it if you eat things that are rich in carbohydrates and the wrong sort of sugar (refined) means our body has to produce alot of insulin to cope with it, making you knackered a sort time after. You may also feel quite hungry again later as your blood sugar drops rapidly. In work we tend to ram as much down our throats in the hour we have. (or less) I think if you do have this problem then eat in two stages. Fish, nuts seeds salad and fruit are all good try to avoid bread and heavy meals. You might consider getting a book on glycarmic index. At all costs avoid energy drinks for this problem.

I usually take a salad for lunch, some fruit and maybe a sandwich, then depending on what time I get home, I eat a good meal. I try not to eat after 6 pm, this way the fat don't stay with you.

You are probably eating too many refined carbs at lunch causing a blood sugar spike and drop. Try a meal with protein and fat and fewer carbs and I bet your energy will remain more stable.
As someone else suggested, vitamins. A good B-50 tablet with lunch (or B-100) will help give you energy.

Are you eating bread and/or potatoes at lunchtime? There's nothing wrong with this, but if you need lots of get-up-and-go in the afternoon you need to have a lighter lunch with less carbs.
Eat lean meat and green salad, lots of it.
Don't eat fruit with your meal, save this for your mid-afternoon break.
Drink lots of water.

Get tested for blood sugar levels. I had the same problem,
I'm now diabetic. I agree about the carbs - try to remove most of them. A single slice of bread can shoot the sugar right up.

Bring a thermos of black coffee. The caffeine should do the trick. Also avoid turkey. There is a chemical in turkey that can make you sleepy.
