no, not really. exept they are more prone to be blind, i think. other then that, i think they are just like a regular G.S. only white.

They are not permitted in the AKC show ring and so there is less pressure in the white shepards to breed for the long smooth trot beloved in the show ring. Unfortunately because they are not permitted in the AKC ring it's much more difficult to find a responsible breeder and GSD's have enough genetic problems to avoid backyard and commerital breeders.

There are no differences in white German Shepherds other than the color of their coat. They are recognized by the AKC, but are disqualified from competing in any shows. They are beautiful dogs.

No difference in temperament or conformation if the dog was well-bred; however, many breed registries will not register white Shepherds.

White is a recessive trait, and dogs with recessive traits usually have more health issues throughout life.
