We are remodeling our social hall and sadly could not have VBS this year. I know of several churches around here that did Take the Plunge and something with a rodeo theme.

It is a Ranch theme and the kids sing songs and learn bible verses as usual. Make crafts some are sent to Africa for kids in hospitals. They have snack and listen to bible story, play games related to their story and watch a bible story video. Then they sing more songs and watch the PowerPoint of photos taken that day. This theme was very popular this year for churches all over the USA.

The theme of VBS this year is 'Suffer the Little Children'. We have been painting little plaster of Paris dolphins and starfish today. Then we had cookies and kool-aid. I think the children are enjoying it so far.

It is some kind of water parks theme.
There are physical activities, depending on age, like dodgeball or wall ball, bible story time, song time, and of course ... donations time! That is the best: the kids bring coins and the boys and girls compete to see who can bring the most weight in coins (to give to a charity).
